Permanent Majority
I guess the tales of the demise of the Republican Party were a little premature. Has a so-called "Permanent Majority" ever lasted for such a short time?
Going back to what Dennis Miller said when Obama was elected, I cannot get over how on point he was. He said that Obama should be smart enough to know that when Pelosi and Reed come sauntering up to him with their ideas on how to govern that he should kick them down and remind them that HE is responsible for the party being in power not them.
Oh well, maybe Obama can refresh that advice. Listening to Pelosi and Reed is career limiting.

There is so much irony coming from this election, its mindboggling. I won't go into all that, but I will mention one bit: That right now the best person to advise Obama would be none other than Bill Clinton. And hey, perhaps in the meetings Obama can indulge him by serving him coffee?
Personally I think that would be damn funny.
Anyway, Clinton needs to tell him that he can't just ramrod the nation because "he won". The people surrounding Obama don't know how to play the DC game, and they are getting whooped.
I thought this article was a pretty good case for "divided government". Regardless of who is in the WH, I think it's vital and healthy to have a Congress that is not a house of executive sycophants. So in that regard, getting a 41st (R) in the senate was a good thing for everyone.
Also, remember that primate GWB? Yeah, me too. Remember all those evil, horriful, terribad policies he implemented? Of course you do.
Obama may also want to call him into his office, and ask Bushitler how he did that, all while having to deal with unsuper majorities (and minorities).
Governing is hard.
By the way, kudos to the President for so unequivocally decrying any ideas to ram the thing through via legislative chicanery (redundant, I know) or any means which would exclude or devalue the vote of Senator Brown.
I'm happy to give him credit here.
I believe Obama said that after Barney Frank said noway would he vote on any bill prior to Brown being seated.
Frank saw that his district voted for Brown and he would like to keep his job. Obama sees the writing on the wall.
